Our Family at Miraflores

Our Family in front of the Miraflores Locks of the Panama Canal

Dear Friends & Fellow Travelers,

We're writing you from lovely Costa Rica after having spent the first half of July in Panama. It's been fun mastering our Spanish as we continue our trek through Latin America!

The Panama Canal is an amazing feat of engineering. Our boys were fascinated as we watched the Miraflores Locks in action with freighter ships passing on through. Along the country's Caribbean Coast we found Isla Grande quite peaceful. But it was the turquoise water surrounding the white sandy beaches of the Pearl Islands that took our breath away.

These past two weeks we've been appreciating pura vida in Costa Rica. On Kathryn's birthday we went up to the Arenal Volcano and nearby natural hot springs. And now we're checking out the Nicoya Peninsula as we make our way around this beautiful country.

Of course, through all of this we have continued to work and have released two brand-new products including The Portable Lifestyle™ Insider's Resource Guide, full of secrets and direct contacts we have gathered and used throughout our Global travels. Read on for more info or please visit:

Avoid Living at the Survival Level

Survival-level is not a good energetic level to be in, because it can get you off-center, make you feel desperate, and even cause you to make bad decisions. But it can crop up when you're Portable Lifestylin' and we've even seen people (and been guilty ourselves of this) descend to this level at times on the road.

Everywhere you go, you're creating a new life, putting place the basics such as how to get your clothes clean, where to eat, your connectivity situation, lodging, and transportation.

So with this constant life-recreation, the rigors of travel can lower your resistance. How can you best avoid survival-level energy and thinking?

1. Plan well.

2. Be resourceful and have a lot of tools in your arsenal.

3. Have in place ways to rise your energy. Carry your support and be supportive with travel companions.

4. Build a pad into your schedule so you can have time once you arrive to gradually put your new support in place.

5. Give yourself a stern talking-to in order to remind yourself that you will survive no matter what and somehow the situation will be set straight.

6. Build a steady income so that you always have a nice financial pad to cover the unexpected and take a break when needed.

When Is a $5,000 a Night Suite Worth It?

We have stayed in the most lavish suites you could imagine with EVERYTHING. Bottom line is that a sofa is still a sofa and a bed is still a bed, no matter how posh. So WHEN would a single suite be worth $5,000 a night?!

The only time we can think of is when you're on your honeymoon or in the throes of first love and you know you won't be coming out to see the light of day. Otherwise, you wouldn't be spending enough time in such surroundings to make it worth it (no matter how much money you've got -- most people with independent wealth are pretty sensible about their money, which keeps their bottom line high.)

The fact is that when you're traveling, you usually are getting out and about to see your surroundings. Living The Portable Life, you do want the home-like environment that a suite provides, but you're not spending every second in the suite, and to live this life, you're simply CAN'T pay $5,000 per night indefinitely.

. . . ESPECIALLY when you can get a beautiful 4 star hotel suite for as little as $159 per WEEK. This is one of our secrets - getting posh lodging, NOT for $5,000 a night, not even for $100 per night. Read on to find out more. For the first time, our Insider's Guide shows you how we live the posh life on a budget that can be less than staying home.

Family in Hawaii Oct.2007

We didn't know how we were going to do it. We didn't know exactly what we were going to do. But we did know that we wanted change and the World is an awesome place to do it.

So we packed our bags, put everything else into storage, and jumped on a plane. It was pure magic! Immediately things began to fall into place. We were living the traveling family dream; two bedrooms, two baths, a kitchen, swimming pool, hot tub, high-speed Internet, all in a tropical locale... We stayed our first three weeks on the three separate Hawaiian Islands for less than we had been paying in Los Angeles. We were hooked.

In the two years since then we've lived in more than 20 tropical communities in 12 countries gathering more expertise with every stay. And now, we are ready to share our biggest secrets with you- All of the Internet sites, all of the names and resorts through which we've gotten the best deals imaginable. Plus, all of the business and technology workarounds that have made the past two years of our lives the most exciting AND most productive EVER in our careers as well as for our personal and family growth.
