Strengthen Your Relationship with Money

Living The Portable Lifestyle™ does not require you to save your cash, dip into a vacation fund, or sell off your assets. In fact, to truly live the portable life of your dreams, you need to disconnect yourself from the limitations of what you believe money is and how to make a living. Whether you are working a standard 9-5 day job, you are a self-employed consultant, you are a business owner, or you live off of interest on your assets, the main ingredient for portability is "cash flow".

You can be a millionaire ten times over, but if all of your money is tied up in assets or if there is a sudden economic downturn as with the stock and housing markets recently, you will have limited or no cash available to live day-to-day. On the other hand, you can be completely broke and hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt and still live quite comfortably if you can get the cash flowing in the right direction. Whatever your situation, you can change your focus on how money flows and be well on your way to wealth and adventures you have always dreamed of.

Here is an exercise to help you focus your attention on abundance of and not the obstacles in your path that may seem so overwhelming right now. Spend a little time each day following these simple steps in order to retrain your brain into allowing the abundance of the universe to shine through you and your wallet.

1)   Take out a paper bill. It can be as little as $1 or as big as £100. It can be in pristine mint condition or completely tattered. The quality of the paper on which it is printed is meaningless. You can even do this exercise with Monopoly money if you choose.

2)   Focus your attention on this bill intensely. Look at the design, at every shape and symbol. Imagine the care that was taken to design such a beautiful object. Say to yourself, "This is mine. I own this bill."

3)   Search your mind for positive and happy memories that are tied to money and your use of it. It could be the first time your father gave you money to pay for a toy, buying your soulmate her engagement ring, or when you paid a larger-than-called-for tip after a wonderful experience. Remember these events vividly. Imagine bigger and better experiences to come.

4)   Now stare directly at the bill and speak the following mantra aloud (or if you are in a place where you do not want to be heard, speak it into you head), "I appreciate you. I can feel the power I have when I am with you. I look forward to many happy times together. Thank you for all of the support you have given me over the years. I am one with you. I am one with money."

5)   Then gently put the bill back in your wallet, pin it to your bulletin or vision board, or place it between the pages of your favorite book. Treat it with respect and it will do the same for you. Release this bill back into the universe and prepare for the cash to flow in ways you never imagined possible!
